If you look at the fact that you have a roof over your head, food to eat, that you are young and beautiful and live in a peaceful land, then no, you have nothing to be sad about. But the fact is, we are not only a physical body, we have souls too, and sometimes our souls get sick. If you break a leg you don’t just say ‘I have no reason to have a broken leg’ and ignore it; you seek help. It’s the same when your soul gets hurt. Don’t apologize for being sad.

As a teacher, I wish one of my students would say this. I would die laughing and then remember I’m supposed to be the adult in the room.

That you have failed many times is really nothing tragic. You are fundamentally aware through your experiences that failure does not kill you. Failure is a devastator that can’t pull it’s own trigger. So if you’ve failed and you’re still alive, failure is nothing. You want to be a rebel in these perfectionist times, you embrace your failure and keep going. Build up that resiliency, give it another go and take notes when it busts. Science it up man.
